FarMR - A mini Mixed-Reality farming experience created for the MIT Reality Hack. My team’s intended audience was for younger children so they could also try out new XR technology. With how XR is now, there is still a severe lack of children-friendly applications and we wanted to test out an experience that would be fun and teach them basic skills in growing and maintaining their own crops. The farm is table-top sized, meaning they were able to place it on any convenient surface and build upon their farm from there. Aside from choosing from different seeds to plant, they also have to maintain the basic chemical levels of the soil and choose a color-coded watering can based on if levels were too high or low.
